The 2012 Youth Strike Chapel: The Oasis!
Youth Strike for Christ 2012
Labyrinth/Prayer Oasis

A labyrinth is a walking meditation with three stages
– the journey in, the center, and the journey out. It is not like a maze with a choice of turns – it has only one path.
As you walk the labyrinth, you have three choices:
You can choose stop at each of the stations to help prepare your labyrinth walk, you can choose to come back to each of the stations at a later time and only walk the labyrinth in
reflection, or you can choose to go straight to the
center and walk the labyrinth at a later time.
The choice is yours and only yours.
Whatever way you choose, use the journey to the
center as a way to slow down, to let go of busyness and stress you came in with, and to prepare to meet with God.
At the center is a place that represents the living water
offered by Jesus to all of us. It is also a space to be with God in prayer. As you sit and soak in this space, please listen for God’s request to “Come Thirsty...Leave Refreshed.”
The chapel is a place to slow down and reflect on the experiences of the weekend. It serves as a simple, holy place for you to draw close to and spend time with Jesus. Each year, the stations vary, but the invitation remains the same. Begin anywhere you want, stay as long as you like, move on when you are ready, and feel free to return any time. Whether you come in to spend some quiet time with God or you want to experience the prayer stations, this is a place of quiet rest. Let the scriptures and reflections sink into your heart and mind.

Thinkabout a time when you were really thirsty, not just a little parched, butfeeling like you were going to pass out thirsty. When was the last time youwere thirsty for Jesus like that?
Jesus is the living water. He is a spring of life welling up inside of you. Think ofwhat a cool clean stream can do for you. It can quench your thirst, clean you, refresh you, transport you. Every time you reach in to touch it you aretouching a new part of it; it is always renewing itself, always fresh and newand wild.
Take a few moments and kneel here to pray. Meditate on his goodness. Thank him forbeing your living water. You can saythis prayer, if you’d like: Lord Jesus,I’m thirsty for more of you. I need to be refreshed by your Holy Spirit in anew way that quenches my very soul. Thank you for your renewing water thatfills me abundantly. Amen.
Youmay sit at this well/fountain for as long as you like and refresh your soul.Listen close to His words: Comethirsty…leave refreshed

Previous Years Chapels
The chapel hours are: Friday 4pm-12am, Saturday 7:30am-12am, and Sunday 7:30am-Noon. If you need any assistance, whether it’s someone to pray with or talk with, we will have adults available or you can contact a CORE team member.
Everyone needs an oasis on the island. We invite individuals, small groups, and/or whole youth groups to come find solace and the source of living water in the chapel.
