Small Group Sessions
Small groups and break-out sessions play an integral part in Youth Strike for Christ. By tailoring these groups to specific age brackets, the lessons allow for maximum faith-based exploration, questioning, and studying.
If you are an adult (18 or older and out of high school) who is interested in being a small group leader and attending YSFC for FREE, check out our Adult Small Group Leaders page here!
7th-10th Small Groups
Modeled from Jesus and His 12 disciples, these 10-14 person groups allow youth to learn with and from each other. These sessions are led by one youth leader and focus on the key scripture passages for that year's theme. To create more interactive and age-specific lessons, we break down our small groups into 7th & 8th grade and 9th & 10th grade groups.
The 7th-10th grade youth will automatically be assigned a small group upon registration. When everyone arrives for the weekend, they will receive a nametag that will include their small group name.
Here's what our four sessions will focus on:
Session 1: “Everlasting”
Isaiah 40:28-31
Session 2: “Heart”
Ecclesiastes 2:10-11; Luke 6:45; 1 Kings 3:7-9
Session 3: “Head”
Acts 17:10-13; Ecclesiastes 8:16-17; 1 Corinthians 2:6-16
Session 4: “Hands”
John 13:12-17; James 2:14-18; Exodus 14:15-16
11th-12th Break-Out Sessions
Youth Strike for Christ offers a new small group format for our 11th and 12th grade youth. These youth sign up for a "Track" based upon the topics covered in four different "Break-Out sessions" on that track. These sessions are tailored to Juniors and Seniors and cover topics that are important to them, while the tracking portion allows the youth to remain with their small group over the whole weekend during the four different break-out sessions.
The 11th and 12th grade youth will sign up for their track when they send in their registration. When everyone arrives for the weekend, they will receive a nametag that will include the name of their track and break-out sessions. |
